Yet 2022 has also been a pivotal year for electric vehicles: the fast charging network for long-distance travel is poised to be transformed through major private and federal investments at a time when available vehicle models are proliferating and electric pickup trucks and electric SUVs are finally entering the market. Learn how the local, state, and national charging environment is improving and electric vehicles are becoming more mainstream, as nearly a quarter of U.S. drivers report they would consider purchasing an EV for their next vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>Learn practical tips regarding public charging locations, which vehicles have a federal tax credit, local utility incentives for home charging, and what vehicle models are available as well as those coming soon. Guests from the local Michiana Electric Vehicle Drivers Network will share personal experiences switching to electric vehicles. Also, upcoming electric vehicle events at First Fridays will be discussed, where you can see a wide range of plug-in hybrid and all-electric models, meet their local owners, and even get behind the wheel for a test drive!<\/p>\n<p><strong>About Our Speaker:<\/strong>\u00a0 Leah Thill is the Senior Environmental Planner with the Michiana Area Council of Governments (MACOG), where MACOG\u2019s sustainability programs focus on clean transportation, clean air, clean energy, and brownfields. Leah holds a Master of Public Affairs and a Master of Science in Environmental Science from the Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs with concentrations in Energy and Sustainability, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from Goshen College. Leah blends her interest in science and technology with a passion for scaling up existing solutions to urgent environmental challenges.<\/p>\n<p>The Studebaker Museum Speaker Series, presented by the <em>Campisi Family Education Fund<\/em>, is held in the Wiekamp Auditorium. Regular Speaker Series admission is $2.
