Join the Museum on\u00a0Saturday, November 9th<\/strong>, as we host President Abraham Lincoln, portrayed by renowned re-enactor Kevin Wood, and his program: Lincoln and Thanksgiving!<\/p>\n

Wood\u2019s program brings history to life with the captivating story of how Thanksgiving became a national tradition during his presidency. Dive into the backdrop of the Civil War as Lincoln recounts his pivotal Thanksgiving proclamation, and discover the inspiring tale of Sarah Josepha Hale, the determined writer who championed the creation of this cherished holiday. This engaging program is perfect for all ages and serves as a powerful reminder that, even in the face of challenges, we can always find reasons to give thanks!<\/p>\n

Be sure to stick around after the program is finished for a special \u201cbehind the ropes\u201d photo opportunity with President Lincoln and his carriage!<\/strong><\/p>\n
